  • Re: MP5 series SMG's

I think Cyma are G&G based these days and its actually a G&G I have, did some research though and it seems FE make two types, one for TM, Ca etc and one for G&G, Cyma, SRC etc, so i've now ordered the G&G one (think thats what you have), fingers crossed.

And how is it? Improved over the originals, what with those Azimuth bolt guides being standard fit?

          Well.......
Those bolt guides as standard, mine only came with one but saying that it is running fine on just that one, I'm ordering a complete set from HK anyway so no biggie.

I must say there are no "improvements" other than the bolt guides that I can see anyway, compared to the original full size MP5s.

Stock it ran fine at about 350-370 FPS, but I've added a steel hammer and sear, weaker valve spring, bringing the FPS down to 330-340, but by far the most impressive upgrade for me is the Azimuth enhanced flow valve for the mags, they just seem to give much much more gas efficiency and blowback over the standard valves.

Overall I'm quite impressed at the moment, I've heard so many horror stories about VFC MP5s but me being me I had to find out for myself, I supposed only time will tell if its a good buy long term wise.

                • And because I liked the K so much I decided to go out and buy her big sister too.

So the VFC MP5K's holding up well for you? Interesting, very interesting. Whose lower is the Kurz sporting? Either a PDW MP5K or a full-size slither-stocked variant like yours (what is that? MP5N? MP5A5?) would be a very compelling CQB gun.

MP5-A3 with pictogram trigger group (sliding stock, no 3 round burst)

Good to see it landed Lee !

The MP5k is doing remarkably well, I'm very very impressed with it, it does have a lot of upgrade internals in though, but that was purely because they are as cheap as chips for the VFC MP5s.
It's lower is Azimuth, I wanted it purely for the non ambi steel selector really, but I do quite like its look over the navy lower, and despite reports to the contrary it is a drop in fit, quite literally 30 seconds work.

Yeah as said above the full size one is an A3, given the fact that I'm so happy with the K, and the fact that I heard that their full size versions were shipping with the Ks subtle improvements (and they do) I had to get myself one, the A3 hasn't had as much of a beasting as the K yet but I hope to give it a good shake down before the end of October, performance dependant, given the temps are dropping it could be its first and only outing until next year.

I always thought an A3 had a SEF lower? Is it the lack of 3 round burst that makes it an A3 then as I was always under the impression that a navy lower made it an A5?

                            • As far as I'm aware, the A3 (navy) is the semi/full trigger group and the A5 (navy)is the semi/burst/auto trigger group.

Though there are so many variants, I could be wrong...lol
