British Forces Weaponry
21 February, 2012, 15:53
I think a British weaponry thread has been tried before, although I thought I'd try again to get one going. Can be any British made weapon or weapon used by British forces from any era.
I'll start with showing off mine, although I really want to see other peoples efforts. There are some awesome L85s, Minimis, L96s, GPMGs and SLRs that people have.
I only ask that people please only post guns that are used by British Forces, and in the general setup that they are used in. E.g. No M16s or L85s with aimpoints on. Just keeps the thread focussed enough to be useful for those who like working on making their guns look like the real thing. Mine are below - pretty spot on I hope, other than the Browning being a type I don't believe has been used by British forces since the late 70s, and was only really widespread during WWII.

Re: British Forces Weaponry
Here's my L86A2 LSW - immense range though accuracy does suffer at extreme ranges. Lovely rifle though!
Me in my support gunner loadout:
And finally me in the field with it:
Armoury: VFC SCAR L, VFC SCAR H SSR, VFC Mk13 EGLM, KWA Vector, TM VSR-10, WE HK416, WE AKS74UN, WE SCAR L x2, DE M56 + M56B, Maruzen M1100 + M870, LaZouche Custom Shop Colt Mk.IV Series 70, TM 1911 MEU, TM 1911 Desert Warrior, TM Desert Eagle.

>No L85's with ACOG's on
>First post is an L85 with an ACOG.
Back on topic, current service L85's are being issued in the field with ACOG's, so it's a valid setup anyway.
I'm seriously tempted in a gas L85, and that picture with the rail kit has almost convinced me. Tis sexeh!
EDIT: Ok ok, I misread: You said Aimpoint, not ACOG, so fair enough

Re: British Forces Weaponry
This is a thread of win.
Here's my attempt at an artsy pic of my L85
It has since been treated to a couple of extra goodies, the only current pic I have of it is this
And I don't have any decent pics of my SLR but when I do, I'll add them here
Also, soon I should be getting a G&P M16VN which should do perfectly for that 60's-90's SAS look

Yup - I meant to avert just any L85, or anything the SAS were rumoured to have used, else it'll just be every Armalite and MP5 varient under the sun - Kinda sticking to recognised setups and L-Numbered weapons.
And the L128 is indeed a trishot - it's a DE M56DL.

Bit of a noob question but how much of the L119a1 is a build and how much is off the shelf?
Or simply put is there an off the shelf L119a1?
