Re: Snipers, love us or hate us?
Only point of a sniper rifle is power, range and accuracy. So 500fps+ all the way!

Re: Snipers, love us or hate us?
Sniper behaviour and sneaking/recon on comms is often more useful than the rifle. As far as I'm concerned a sniper could run a standard full auto M4 and still earn the name, and be useful, through rapid ambush and stealth.

Re: Snipers, love us or hate us?
i reckon that after a long time spending money on a vsr, you learn your gun well. where the bbs go, and what your ranges are. ive been playing with the sniper for a fair length of time and i can be a lone wolf and back up a main entrace to a base or objective, or i can sit back from a team. and shoot past them to the oncoming enemy whilst staying out of their range.
its a lovely class to play as, generally because i can make a difference during the day but im not forever getting shot in the face! which is my normal issue when weilding an AEG :-D
i know people are scepitcal about the whole point of a sniper. but as one id like to fight the cause, as its a much cleaner gameplay, and generally causes alot of distress and avoidance from the enemy when they cant figure out where on earth i am!

Re: Snipers, love us or hate us?
I'm saying this from my own point of veiw, in that an M14 was perfect for me but that's me and if you know how much I love M14's you'd probably reccomend therapy :D
But if you're after a bolt action then don't go for the warrior, because it's... pretty naff. I would go for something that'll accept alot of aftermarket upgrades, and the TM L96 is really good. You can pick them up considerably cheaper second hand, and they're just as good. I have one that was sent off for a trade and I miss it already!
Honestly, they're one of the best L96's on the market and if I'm not mistaken Laylax already have a full set of upgrade parts for them.
When you think about it, if you're buying an L96 brand new, that's already £120-150, so if you save up a bit more you can get a decent second hand TM version, and that's money you won't regret spending
But if you like the pistol grip more, maybe a semi auto sniper is the choice for you? I can't really think of any bolt actions that I'd reccomend for the price of a TM L96... It's up to you in the end though, and I can only give an opinion based on my experiances :D

Re: Snipers, love us or hate us?
personally id go with one of the vsr variants
if you can afford it, go for TM
if not then JG do some quite skirmishable guns as standard

Re: Snipers, love us or hate us?
new to this forum so hey guys, im personally going to purchase a sniper just for the experience, (used a cheap l96 the first time i went and loved it) only issue is i dont know which to buy. i myself have an AEG that can outshoot most others on my sight however i feel it doesnt quite cut it for me.
any recomendations for which sniper to look into?
(i know this is slightly off topic)
looked at a Mauser SR Pro rather than the l96. prefer that pistol grip

That's a good squad combo add a grenadier and you got a airsoft a-team, a DM and sniper to provide long range cover in two seperate directions is a near surefire way to stop or slow potential flankers whilst allowing the blitzkriegers to charge up forward not having to watch the rear as much, if you haven't already use 15-25m leap frogging tactics and you'll be on the enemy in seconds.
Peace out

Re: Snipers, love us or hate us?
Snipers do have a good part to play in a skirmish, as long as there are not silly amounts of them in a game, nothing worse than 30 a side and half the team sniping, a few in both teams adds to the game in my opinion, especially if they are good at it, makes you think a bit more.

Re: Snipers, love us or hate us?
I would say that but I'd rather set myself up with an airbrake piston mod and be a bit more silent :p
I don't like full auto on M14's but that's more personal choice anyway :D
Unless it's a 'nam style M14, which then it's ok!

Re: Snipers, love us or hate us?
id hate to have an engagement distance on an AEG, you dont get much more fps and you cant shoot for the first 20m
would be better (in my case) to have 20 less fps and be able to use fullauto bursts too

Re: Snipers, love us or hate us?
I've never had that happen to me yet, but I'm going to be doing alot more gearbox work this year so I've started to build myself a chronograph as a side project
And I wish I had a minimum engagement distance instead of the same fps as every other AEG

Re: Snipers, love us or hate us?
this is on a bolt action so its allowed the extra
semi snipers are 370 i think with the engagement distance
three times ive been to skirmish with an aeg and its been too hot by about 5 fps

Re: Snipers, love us or hate us?
Ah, we have a strict 360 fps limit. That's after variations are taken into account
Doesn't matter to me though, my M14 chrono's at 349 +/-2fps at worst
Edit:
That's 360 fps for everything, bolties included. Small rumors that go around the younger players say that site members are allowed 500fps bolt actions, and 400fps Semi auto's but I'll have to become a member to verify that one :D
