Ebay. A UK BMX shop is doing them for £17.99 posted. They actually have safety ratings too, so as well as looking cool, might do something in the event of an accident.

Mask of the polystyrene inner and give it a whizz over with some black krylon.

From the photos ive seen of them in Somalia they wore both styles of this helmet- the style like in the movie (half head) & the full head one which covers the ears- they are the type you see Navy Seals and SBS (MCT) wearing which are skydiving helmets made by Protec . ive got both, the half head was from Starbucks a few years back and the other when i was in the states.

                    Re: Blackhawk down

From what I remember when I looked it up a while back

Pro-tec w/ goggles which look like ESS NVG but I'm probably wrong
                    DCU top and bottoms
Black PT armour - could get away with PACA
LBV 88 in M81 camo - although I'm sure you could mod some other LBV to work
Looks like ALICE belt with a whole host of pouches
I'm fairly certain he had a blackhawk chest rig which would look like this but in black and in 7.62
                    http://www.blackhawk.com/product/Che...ches,852,2.htm
It might be the case that those chest rigs were only worn by the guys using 5.56 weapons - watching the film should clear it up whether or not he does have one.

                      Re: Blackhawk down

I've got a black skate helmet, I just flatted the paint down with a fine paper and it looks great, the vents aren't in exactly the right places but when you've got goggles on it you can't see anyway

                          Re: Blackhawk down

dont know the real deal but to look right , viper drop leg ( single strap ) and belt

for the gordon loadout you will also need 4 mag pouches , 2 canteens and butt pack

                            Re: Blackhawk down

The film used blackhawk gear. The holsters were blackhawk droplegs. Guarder do a budget version of it also if you dont want to buy a proper bh version.

I tried the viper one and it ripped so cannot personally recommend it. I used a black bianchi on a dropleg in the end as its comfy and does not flop around. It just doesnt look identical.

The kit list varies for the different characters. But a good basic delta loadout is:
                              Tri colour BDU's
                              Protec half head helmet
Black PT armour (a PACA will look wrong)
LC2 webbing with buttpack, 2 canteens and 2 ammo pouches.
Either a Blackhawk tactical mesh vest (no longer in production as used in the film but BULLE make a copy that is much closer to the one used on screen) or a Blackhawk .223 chest rig.
