Re: sniping
Ive had a few attempts as being the sniper/dmr for my team but dont wear a ghillie suit as my lot tend to wear all black 99.99% so I just try to blend in with them.
Instead of using a bolltie like most of you lot do, I prefer using my tm m14(280-315fps) and psg-1(around 300fps) and ive had quiet a few "kills" from distance and it was great fun :D
Watched my brother try playing sniper with his l96 and he was having a fair bit of problems not being able to hit anything lol as he a terrible shot (I know I shouldnt be mean to him but cant help it lol)
I have looked at doing the whole ghille suit thing but just cant afford one right now

Re: sniping
I want this stickied - "Sniper's Creed"...
owainthegreat & bitchtits - Loving the ghillies.
bitchtits - I have seen the 3rd picture before (you with the MK23). Do you use Airsoftrsniperboard by any chance?
Just to add and reinforce on what I think Dope started off - ACCURACY ACCURACY ACCURACY ACCURACY ACCURACY, you can't hit anything with all the FPS in the world if you don't have ACCURACY.
I run a fully upgraded TK Twist Barrel VSR at around 330fps (less than a lot of AEG's).
I use light US Woodland Camo set up, with a ghillie blanket (hand made) that I just pull over when the time comes. Also, to save on face paint, I use an OD Ninja Balaclava with a cap underneath to create shadow over my face (it looks pretty cool too).
I enjoy going between DMR and Sniper which my set up really allows me to do, fair enough I'm not quite the human bush some of you seem to be, but with a little extra time I can still get pretty dug in.
Anyway, here's my VSR (the tape is much darker off camera, and on skirmishes it has a light wrap as well):
I'll get some pictures of my load out up ASAP.

nae bother - will get some pics of mine up shortly (im away on a fibua training week with the OTC :D)
where to start:
get a set of combats - or if you prefer a flight suit/ od overall.
you then want to get a load of netting - not sure where is the best place to get this but try some where like B&Q or a garden centre
ideally you want nylon netting with 1.5 - 2 inch squares (neither of the ghillies ive made use nylon as im cheap and used stuff i had already.)
cut the netting to shape over the clothes and sew in place - i used ordinary cotton but the military seem to use unwaxed dental floss as its very strong. - this is because it doesnt rot - but with the amount of use and the general conditions an airsoft ghillie is in - this probably isnt such a big thing.
once the netting is sewn on you can use "shoe goo" to secure it in place. - or you can simply hot glue or shoe goo the netting in place.
once your netting is in place - just on the back of the suit - you can add canvas or some other strong material to the front to prevent wear.
then just tie on lengths of jute or burlap which is dyed different colours. - i used all kinds of material - mostly garden string and old potato sacks from a garden centre which i cut up and dyed.
its quite a long process but worth it in the end. -
personally i would add elastic material to the ghillie to aid attaching foliage.
mine cost around £30 to make - most of that was spent on dye.
any questions just ask.

Re: sniping
Ahhh, would have been ASR... Your ghillie seems VERY functional. In the 3rd picture, it seems like if you stepped back into that tree behind you, you would disappear...

Re: sniping
Since this is a snipers thread ..
oh and bitchtits bloody nice ghillie mate will be getting mine done soon when i can get hold of my hessian sacks.
Anyway as i was saying
G spec's id love to stick a fluted outer barrel in it obviously this means it will be the same length as a normal vsr , will it work and will it just be a case of swapping out the 330 for a normal vsr length inner barrel.
But yea pictures of me wearing my heavy and light sniper gear, not much difference, just sniper smock with heavy

ive seen the same picture before too.
it was on here, cant remember which thread but iirc someone said it was at a site in scotland and they wouldnt be suprised if they were ex military. the one criticism that followed was that he was wearing glasses that give off shine.
http://zeroin.co.uk/showthread.php?t...ht=ex-military
this was the original thread where the picture was seen on here, the picture has been deleted now, dont know why, but it was bert's post #4.

Re: sniping
ive tryed to make it as multi functional as possible, by make it with a browner base, rather than green, so it can be used in the winter/autum aswell as summer.
in the summer i just add more green foliage,to make it green.

Tech section bud, sorry, but you will get a much better response if you post this on my upgrade thread.
I think this is more of a tech free thread...
