Re: USMC Force Recon, 1st attempt at a loadout
Lol, yeah I need some tan boots, they're bloody expensive for a pair the same quality as I've got in black unfortunately! I've got to get the gun first but that's coming soon so next on the list is the leg holster and some brown Krylon for the helmet. The Flyye belt is on its way, from the pictures I've seen they seem like they can't get enough of Coyote pouches so I'll trawl the ads for some cheapos (If such a thing exists!)
I've also seen a few pics with chemlights hanging off caribinas, what do you think, yay or nay?

I think it'll look nice when it's done. Yank loadouts aren't usually my thing but it'd inspire me to try one if you could pull it off well :D

The little things certainly add the finishing touches to a loadout, but let's get the basics right first
I picked up a pair of desert Lowas at last years War & Peace show for £20, so you don't have to break the bank to get something that at least looks the part. Try and get a IFAK pouch if you're going shopping for pouches and if you need a general/util pouch then a 100rd/200rd SAW pouch does the trick

Re: USMC Force Recon, 1st attempt at a loadout
Thanks, I'll have a look out for one!
£20 is more than reasonable for boots, glad I didn't have tan this weekend mind you, it was MEGA muddy :-)

Oooh I spot the Alamo =p
I'd have to agree there, Tan boots would have gotten ruined! Nice start to the load out though mate, It'll build up over time don't worry

Re: Modern USMC Force Recon loadout?
Cool, I'll undercoat it black and dust the khaki Krylon over the top, do you think it would be worth draping some scrim netting over it when I spray it to give some texture? I've seen that on a couple of helmets on here
And yes, it was the alamo, good spot!

up to you if you want the net effect. I personaly wouldn't bother with the black undercoat, just the khaki should do fine with the green already there

Might look quite nice if it wore off to reveal the green eventually, I want it to look bashed up like these guys in the top picture:

By the way, do the night vision mounts seem to be quite expensive for what is eesentially one piece of plastic or is it me? They're about $80

Re: Modern USMC Force Recon loadout?
I'd lose the kneepads unless they're a coyote colour, but the thing that really stands out at the moment are the boots. I'd put boots as number one on the list.
PM incoming.

Re: Modern USMC Force Recon loadout?
I've ordered the Krylon and the NVG mounts, should be a good start and the Flyye belt should turn up in a week or so. I'm trying to limit how much I spend each month so the boots will have to wait, I need to try them on as I'm kind of an 11 or 12 depending on the boot but they're next on the list, along with the oakley gloves. The holster will have to wait till I see what comes up on the classifieds, I've only got a springer to put in there at the moment anyway so it's not essential!
I need something to fill all these pockets with now!

Re: Modern USMC Force Recon loadout?
Also, I've found a Caribina knocking about, should I h ang that off the vest? I'm sure I've seen that somewhere on here. From looking at the photo's f the FORECON guys I've noticed they like to take everything bar the kitchen sink with them ao I need more gear hanging off me!

Re: Modern USMC Force Recon loadout?
Anything that makes it look a bit more realistic is a plus on my book, I don't know whether you're trying to replicate a unit but imho it's a bit easier if you have something specific to copy
