I'm going to have a look at this today when I call in hopefully and will preorder if its solid, loving my mx2 cqbr so looking to add the
M4a1 to my armoury, the move from recoil to trigger response seems worth it so far

I'm glad someone said that, cos I was deciding between the TM Scar-L or H, and a CTW, and decided on the CTW. :D

I will be at the NAE 27th-30th August and replies to messages may be slow, bear with me!

Had a look at one of these at todays shoot, not convinced. The motor on this one was way too tight and it sounded like a stuck pig. I know its an easy fix, but the basics should be right out of the box for £500 in my opinion

If the motor too tight is all thats wrong then i wouldn't worry, the Systema has a lot more problems than that!

CTW isn't a bad gun, not sure about the latest version. Treebeards is ok! however i can see that barrel causing more issues than its worth tbh

TM 226r, SYSTEMA PTW, Custom built m4, DE shotty, what else would a man need ?

Unless your a cheapskate and don't bother cleaning your barrel there shouldn't really be any problems with this.

Well the motors are pre shimmed like the new systema motors, no adjustment to them, so I doubt it was the motor... new gearboxes can sound a little noisy untill they bed in, its the helical gears...

What you have to remember is its a £495 gun, that is a direct copy of the systema, with FAR less issues than a systema, and is a shit load cheaper than a systema.... but yet people still expect it to perform "like a systema"... if it failed as many times as a systema, they'd soon be pissed!!!! lmao!!!

the problem is they seem to fail more than systemas do. being half the price doesnt help if it never works.

Re: Celcius CTW Team Alpha Release Date Announced...

What's the advantage of CTW over say an upgraded open bolt M4A1 GBB in CNC machined alumnium?

The GBB is far more realistic in very single respect. I don't get it. I've often thought of buying a Systema or CTW but I'm unable to see the advantage.

The (upgraded) GBB is more durable, can be immersed in water, operates like and field strips like the real thing. It weighs the same as a real M4A1 and is made of materials at least a s good as or better than a CTW. Maintenance is basic/ simple, far fewer working parts and not reliant on a battery!

What is the fuss about the CTW? I'd like to understand

P.S I've got a feeling I might be seriously flambé'd but I can take it

Well, seeing as we are one of two retailers in the country selling them, and as for alpha's, the ONLY seller, since christmas have sold over 30 ctw's, and had less than 10% back under warranty, to date, nobody with an mx2 has paid a penny in repairs due to anything being fixed under warranty, bearing in mind not ONE needs to be sent to someone for "mods" adding hundreds to something already costing £1250... I can't see the issue?

Ignore what you've read about mx1's and early mx2's pre STTS intervention, as that's like comparing new to old skoda's, pre VAG! STTS are THE best distributors we have EVER delt with, so keen to make sure owners of the STTS/mx2 are happy, if a gear fails, they normally replace the whole gearbox, then send the other back to celcius for analysis, to improve in the design! systema dont even answer to emails! lol

I know of something in the pipeline that will literally blow the roof on current ctw owners (that have filled in their warranty cards and registered with stts) and those that doubt! that will re write the definition of customer service, END OF!!! don't ask, as I won't tell, but mark my words, those that miss out on the alpha, don't say i didn't warn you! lol

As for the gbb argument... really? flawed from the start... weather! end of! well, if it were that simple! would be better if they didn't shake themselves to bit when the do work, or the valves didn't fail ect ect...

If gbb was better than a ctw/ptw design, you'd think some country/organisation would use it as a ptw no?

Weather is no longer a problem with CO2 regulated with NPAS. CO2 will operate at a lower temperature than a an Airsofter would wish to operate at! Also I did say upgraded. On a WE M4A1 all internals can be upgrade to CNC Steel. A fully upgraded GBB will not shake itself to bits- I know because my GBB is all CNC steel internals and CNC Aluminium receiver. The arguments about weather and robustness in respect of GBB went out the window at least a couple of years ago with CNC steel upgrades, open bolt, CO2 and NPAS kits.

The US Army Rangers and other elite/ SF units do use GBB M4 for CQB training. The US Army rangers have used GBB for several years.

All the upgrades can be done quickly and easily for less than half the cost of a Systema. This is why everytime I think about getting a Systema or more likely a CTW I wonder why bother with all the cost, complexity of electronics if what I want is a realistic training weapon.

With a (open bolt) GBB you can apply real world NSPs and operate the weapon as per real world and not worry about the weather or if my computer controlled weapon is going fry up on contact with English downpour! It's rather sad when I often see Systema owners looking concerned about a light drizzle!

i take it from your posts your either one of the retailers selling them or affilated with them. .so of course you are going to say there great...people selling ferraris dont tell you they can realy be driven on the roads at 140mph and there crap to drive around the town at 30mph. thats bit going to help them sell.

as fir the mods im sure they still need most the mods done to get the best preformance
