They use the same hop and barrel as the g&g top tech range, externally is where there different, and im pretty sure the gearboxes are very similar.

Same barrels maybe. Different hop unit. The gr16s is much better made, and the tr16s has higher QC along with a different nub. I have yet to delve into a cm or grs gearbox, but they Are different.

hop unit is the same, mine actually says gr16 on it.......

Lucky you then, both i have worked on had CM ones, but g&g may have changed it as both the ones ive worked on are a few years old, (back when they were like £99)

oh right, i guess neither of us were wrong aha!
you dont happen to know if a tm m16 hop unit fill fit a g&g receiver do you, as there m4 one is a 2 piece design?

The dials turn really easily and its metal, so it wont hold its position as well as the g&g one (stiff is good) but its not made of plastic. The main reason for swapping for me was that it was quite hard to change the hop in the middle of a firefight, even using the bolt lock.
But id say its much better than the g&g one.

Mines two piece i believe, cant remember. Theyre the same size anyways.

It's not an actual rifle, looks like its just been built to suit the owner. LaRue 12" ris, KAC style suppressor, m4/m16 receiver and old style sliding stock.
