Re: Sniper Upgrades (based on a VSR) and Further Guide
This is my set up and wondering about FPS...
-TM VSR Gspec
-Laylax Trigger Sear
-Laylax Piston Sear
-Laylax Hi Pressure Piston (RED)
-Laylax Sp 150 Spring
-Laylax Steel Spring Guide
-Laylax 6.03 Tighbore Barrel 430mm
-Custom Barrel Spacers
-PTFE Mod the Cylinder Head
And the fps with .20g bb's is around 390 :S It should be 500fps
Any ideas please?
Cheers in advance...

Re: Sniper Upgrades (based on a VSR) and Further Guide
Okay cheers, thought it could possibly be the hop rubber... any ideas on which hop rubber I shall replace it with if it is torn?
Also does any one have a video of how to PTFE tape the hop rubber please?
Cheers

Well the weapon will be over 400 fps so only use hard type firefly or nineball
Also YouTube and google show you the guides

Re: Sniper Upgrades (based on a VSR) and Further Guide
I bought a set and they did absolutely nothing to fix the problem with it not 'catching' when cocked.
Gave up and went for the Zero trigger in the end.

Re: Sniper Upgrades (based on a VSR) and Further Guide
just a quick question
what sort of range should i be expecting from a out of the box vsr real shock
mine seams somewhat lagging
it barley reaches 50 meters? or am i expecting to much?
i have only shot a few mags through it so could it be the hop has not bedded in?
i have a load of laylax goodness in the post but i was just curious.
as my old bog standard warrior l96 reached 60 meters with ok accuracy and i was expecting the same if not more.
cheers
Traded with me? please leave feedback as will I

Re: Sniper Upgrades (based on a VSR) and Further Guide
I can pretty much guarantee that the Warrior had 150+ FPS more than the VSR does. So you'd expect it to shoot further with the hop set properly.
The VSR will be more accurate, but will have less range in stock form.
And now while i'm on this thread, how am i supposed to put the damper pads on cylinder. There's no instructions and i really don't feel like messing it up. I was under the impression it was blue on first and then a black after. Black to cushion (silence) and the Blue to absorb the energy to prolong the life of the cylinder.
Please correct me if i'm wrong

Re: Sniper Upgrades (based on a VSR) and Further Guide
fair enough
I've always been under the impression fps did nothing. at least that what every one said when i first started.
so i take it a small fps increase wont do much, but when it's a substantial increase it will have an effect?
cheers anyway

Re: Sniper Upgrades (based on a VSR) and Further Guide
Small FPS variations won't give much more range at all. But big difference will. So long as they are paired with a working hopup however.
I've installed the accuracy upgrades to my Bar-10 and i'm getting about 180-200 feet with decent accuracy. This is using Guarder .3's
I've yet to install my teflon cylinder, new cylinder head and i've not PTFE'd anything up yet. My Spring is the MAG M100, unfortunately i don't have a chrono to check but without the PTFE tape mods i'm probably getting 300-330 from it.
The barrel i have is a PDI 6.05 with a Nineball hop rubber and 4 barrel spacers. Hop isn't even worn in yet so i'd expect a little more range again after a 200 or so rounds put through it
